Default Total Eclipse of the moon

Tonight.

Hoping on a spookey Halloween like sail on Galveston Bay tonight.
The Full harvest moon is suppose to turn blood red during a full
eclipse.

Were hoping to see the ghost ship of Jean Lafitte.
Well hoist the Jolly Roger and fire the cannon a few times to roust em
out.

It's rumored his ghost sails one of his captured slave ships off the
shore waters of Kemah looking for a place to unload his cargo.

An eclipse is always a memorable experience. You can see why the
ancients were terribly impressed by them.

... Alas...totally cloudy
night with no chance to see it.

Same here. Anybody out there have better luck?

It was great out here... hardly a cloud. Watched for a couple of
hours.

Well if you missed it Katy is was quite striking. More of a burnt
orange than blood red. After the full eclipse is was very bright with
a black quarter shrinking as the earth moved out of the path of the
sun. Very bright moon light you needed moon tan lotion.

We had a mostly clear sky 82 degrees and winds from the se at 6kts.
Slow lazy sail, just jib & jigger with no sign of Lafitte ghost ship
...but lots of bloody marys and zombies were killed.

Gorgeous in northern Indiana. I have photos, but sadly they aren't great.
The lunar disc shone brilliant Boston Red Sox red.
