America did not put in a puppet Govt.

Who's been running Iraq for the past 2 years, Joe? Maybe calling it/them
a "puppet gov't" is a bit harsh, but it certainly is not a legally
constituted soveriegn authority.

... The Iraqi people voted for a
leader. In doing so they will learn that if the leader they elected
does not play well in the world community the whole country will
suffer.

Kind of like what's happening here, eh?

I am confident that history will prove our cause
right in this war, but by the time that happens, the world might be so
steeped in the gloom of ignorance we won't recognize victory when we
achieve it.

That's another way of saying "I'm right & everybody else is wrong, no
matter what." Not a productive way of thinking. However I hope that
events in Iraq move forward in a positive direction, the election and
the cooperation among the different parties is a pretty good sign.

Joe,

A damn good article!

I'm not a Bush supporter but I'm also not a flaming damn Liberal.

I do believe the media's reporting is slanted way out of balance. I'm
sure I'm not the only TRUE moderate that feels this way.

I am aware of the fact that we are winning against the Terrorist
*******s. I'm aware of the Iraq successful election, I know the opinion
of the U.S. is improving around the world. Also, I'm aware that we have
been beaten by a free vote under our system twice by Bush and his Party.
Not only in the Admin. Branch but also in Congress.

Don't like it but I will follow the will of the legal vote. I am an
AMERICAN and know this is necessary, even is I don't like it.

Ole Thom,

Unfortunately, there's little direction beside up as far as improving
world-wide opinion of the US. This is not exactly an endorsement of Bushco.
Bush LIED to the American people. Rumsfeld LIED to the American people. He
also didn't bother to listen to the professional military, and as a result
was unprepared for what happened after we captured Iraq. There are over 60
insurgent attacks PER DAY STILL!
