New York (AP)- In a post trial press conference Bernard Ebbers, the former
CEO of MCI convicted on all nine counts of a federal incictment alleging he masterminded the 11 billion dollar acounting fraud that resulted in the bankruptcy of MCI, blamed his conviction of "those damn greedy unions and the liberal media". Freed on bail while awaiting sentencing, Ebbers' defense team has indicated that he will be calling Kenneth Lay, Dennis Kozlowski, Michael Milken, Dick Cheney and possibly Tom DeLay as character witnesses during the upcoming penalty phase.
