Default Loco gets busted again...

It seems that a few folks have heard of semi-planing sailboats!

From the Volvo site:

http://www.torresen.com/sailing/cont...ves/003521.php
Volvo Introduces Five Sailboat Engines - August 08, 2005
With eight engines ranging from 12 to 180 hp, Volvo Penta now has the
market's most modern and complete engine range for displacement boats
and semi-planing boats.

And PLEASE read The Nature of Boats, Loco. You might learn a thing or
two about sailing and semi planing disp. hull design.

You've exposed more times than Scotty Potty's wang at the All-Gay Expo!

Ah, Bob - They're talking about powerboats there, not sailboats.

Almost every reference to "semi-planing" is for powerboats, not
sailboats. Its becoming clear: what you like about your bendy is that
it handles like a powerboat!

This is not to say keel sailboats don't on occasion "semi-plane" but
there are only a few (like the 60's) that can sustain that for any
significant period.

Ah, NO there not. Read it again. It's for the realease of 5 NEW
SAILBOAT engines. And while you're right that semi-plane is more
commonly used for powerboats, it's used on occasion for sailboats. I've
heard it and it's online of course. Loco said it's NEVER used and he
certainly NEVER heard it. The term exists. Period.

Nope. Read it again. They never actually refer to semi-planing
sailboats. The do say they can be used in sailboats. And they say
the have a complete range of engines for different types of boats
including semi-planing. But they don't mention semi-planing
sailboats. And you could also look on the Volvo site - I doubt
you'll find a single reference to semi-planing sailboats.

This is just the latest in a long, long list of cases where you claim
to be authoritative, but in fact you're just making things up!

happen!

Don't care Bob. Its not my job to keep Donal honest. I was only
pointing out your most recent blunder.

What blunder would that be? Donal said the term is never applied to
sailboats. Was he right? Is it NEVER applied to sailboats? Fess up,
Jeff...was he correct? Because a good search turned up forums of
sailors using the term
Glad it's not your job to keep Donal honest. Please let us know when
you get a real boat!

Just got back from sailing only to find out I was busted. Or so
somebody thought. Don't try explaining anything to the Boobster. He
can't read. Anyway we had a nice breeze out of the SE. At one point
while close reaching I was wondering if we were semi planeing.

Hallucinating again, Booby? I don't recall Donal saying anything
about semi-planing.
