Joe Yeah, but you don't need that big a boat to do some extended offshore sailing. Been told that the average "cruiser" is sailing something around 45', and these are generally sailboats as opposed to motorsailers. If I had the kind of money it would atke to purchase this thing I would buy something about 900,000 less, and live the good life everytime I made a landfall. Besides, the thing does not have a skeg-hung rudder, which I think is a very good thing to have going offshore, don't you? John Cairns |

the keel. Very exposed. Not a PNW boat. Gaz Well if one gets knocked off, you do have another! Whats the problem in the PNW? Rocky bottoms and floating lumber? I like the clean decks. Nothing worse than having a hard time seeing while your on the wheel..that and cluttered tight decks. Joe |

Pilothouses rock (I own one) but the hull still has to be well thought out and sail properly. Cruisers up here hit logs daily. It rains all the time (keeps the riff raff away). Sailing from inside the pilothouse on a ****ty day listening to a little Buffet on the stereo is pretty close to heaven. No crowded anchorages in Dec. |
