There was a similar incident... dive tour boat leaving a
diver behind... in the Florida Keys. This guy was found by
another boat some hours later. That would be very scary.

One reason to make sure you get acquainted with your
companions on any such trip... that way the odds are higher
they'd realize you were missing.

I heard on the radio yesterday that they were going to 'look
into' cruise ship disappearances. Apparently, at least 12 times
last year a cruise ship returned home with one less passenger
than it left with.

I believe it. Those cruise ships are floating zoos, and the
engineering plant is even scarier to me.

Read 'Darker Than Amber' by John D. MacDonald... one of the
Travis McGee series which is well worth while for anybody
who likes boats... very plausible novel about a very
profitable murder scheme, disposing of people by dropping
them off cruise ships.

I thought I read about some drunk who tried to pee off the side, then fell
in. No one noticed and he ended up swimming. Didn't die though. Maybe it was
an urban myth.

I believe there are lots of similar schemes/places around. There's an
area in Colorado called the Uncompahgre National Forest where hunters
come from all over the country every year to hunt elk. Locals refer to
it as a place to take someone if you want to kill them and not get
caught. My brother married a women who took him hunting 90 days after
they were married and he wound up being murdered.

Yikes!

I've always said that the middle of the ocean would be the best
place to dump a body.
Maybe that's why Lisa won't go sailing with me.
