Default Tired of sailing

After being a sailing fanatic for 30 years of so, I'm suddenly bored with
it. Is this normal? Might even sell the boat.

Sorry to hear that. In my world there is a standard comment:
He has stopped sailing - the service were nice.
I can not imagine being bored with sailing, but then - I don't know how
to do anything else to my own satisfaction. I've been at it a little
less than twice that.

Take a year off. It will come back and you'll want the boat.

Katy,

He may just need a NEW BRAIN! I was Going to say head but he's so FOS
and Scotty would mis-interpret it!

G-G; After 58 years I've put my boat up for sail, reluctantly but my
sense of balance is no longer what it should be and as I approach 80
years, I've decided to beach myself.

I got rid of the boat bunnies a long time ago...all those little
round pellets rolling around to get smashed under the teak grate, ya
know....

To determine if your boredom is normal you must determine the cause.

Is it because sailing no longer fullfills what you initially desired?

Have the waterways become so crowded and stressful that the cost outweighs
the benefit?

Are you coming down with some type of disease that is affecting your mental
state?

Have you read too many Capt RB posts?

If you are willing to give some more information, the cause may be worked
out.

Amen!
