Today's Little Run for Fun
I shot out to the yard this morning at 5:30 am so I could sand the teak strips in the cockpit and re-seal them. The Portacable profile sander is a great tool and I was done in a couple of hours. While it dried I installed a new set of batteries and de-winterized the air conditioner...just in time as the temp in the cabin was above 90 and climbing. Flipped on the AC and then went about cleaning out the main fresh water tank. All easy jobs. With the boat interior chilled down I pulled a root beer from the fridge and listened to some Supertramp on the Sirius radio...nice. Before I left I swapped out the topping lift and hit the road. I left the GT's throttle system in I mode which makes for about 195 HP and better fuel economy. In this mode, staying mostly in top gear I can get better than 27 MPG. And then...I saw two pair of DRL's coming at me. They turned out to be an Audi S4 and a sweet looking M3...both cars with considerably more oomph than my baby and mostly unmodded GT. I was doing 75, which was what the regular traffic was doing and they slid past me doing around 85. I flipped the SI system for maximum response and HP and caught up to them. The fellow in the Audi looked over, noted the scoop on my hood and dropped a gear and nailed it. I did the same and stayed right with him and his 340 HP! I looked in the mirror and saw the M3 right behind me, gaining. At about 120 MPH I jumped to 5th, still with the Audi, but the M3 had us and passed me slowly (and the Audi), but convincingly. I was doing just over 130 MPH. As we came into a sweeping turn I really admired how the M3 looked so composed. Too bad I'm too tall for it. My head grazes the liner. With open road ahead we loafed along at 133, 135....the limiter stops the fun at 140. I saw a pack of cars up ahead and we all backed down. Nice little run and my MPG computer dropped my average all the way down to 22.5 MPG for that little blast. Well...back home now to take Thomas swimming and then a movie tonight. We're sailing all weekend with friends. See ya! RB 35s5 NY |

I have one I'd love to get rid of. Too large. I bought a Fein (even more expensive), which works better and is far smaller/lighter. Max |

So you admit that was you driving like an ass in the car next to me!
Nope, I "admitted" that you're a loser for driving fast with a child in the car. Still worse, you said she was lying down, which is against the law. Child seats are required until age 12 in NY. You have not just been smacked down. You've been suplexed and thrown over the top rope where you landed on the bell-keeper's table! As for hooks.....who started this thread???!!! HMMMMM? BWAHAHAHAHAAAAHHAA! CRACK!!!!! RB 35s5 NY |

Today's Little Run for Fun
This morning at 1AM, they shut down the GWB so I could
cross, just me and six cops. Then I went down Manhattan, on 2nd street. if I kept her pegged at 29MPH, we could make 15 green lights in a row. Now *that's* some quality driving! Scotty "Capt.
