Default My New Boat!!! What did RB Pick????

Well then KUDOS to you! You sure type like someone who's upset. I
can't imagine why though.

After you have been married for 30 years, the last thing
that you need is "attention" from your wife. What you
want it to be able to watch the TV without interruption.

Lucky for me I know some people who have been even married longer than
you and they sure would find what you wrote above funny and sad!
But I'll let your comment stand on it's own!

Perhaps the two of you are suited to each other.
I'm glad that my wife wouldn't be impressed by
an Evo.

Indeed. My wife has driven some of the best handling cars and drives a
6 speed with perfection. She can also swim faster than most people and
can sail. She's interested in what a car can do, not where it gets
parked!

Why don't you let Susannah look at a DB9?
Then you can ask her which she would prefer.

The DB9 is an ungainly boat to her.

Well... I suppose that I shouldn't be surprised!
After all, she married *you*.

Out of all the current cars she
likes the new M3 best, which also out-handles the DB9 with ease.

0-60??? Top speed???

You are talking absolute nonsense, as usual.

The M3 is a boy's car. The DB9 is a man's car.

What
you have failed to understand is the simple fact that the DB9 does
not lead in any subcategory of performance...not one. Yet your
impressed with it cuz it's pretty and expensive. That's the long and
short of it, Donal...oh, and that your wife has special kisses for you
when carted about in a car she "deserves."

Yup!!

And what car IS that, Donal???? It's pretty clear you're afraid to
tell us.

Afraid??

No.

Nah, you're not mad! This little debate has gone great for you! You're
on par with John McCain!

I have to admit that you have insulted me with that one.
Despite the insult, I feel that I will be able to carry on.

You have definitely wounded me. I am really feeling
the pain. Does this make you feel that you are
winning?

I admit that you are correct when you say that
an Evo has more class than a DB9.

You are a genius. Not many people would have
been able to figure out that an Evo would be more
desirable than a DB9.

I am envious that your wife is intelligent enough
to see that your Evo is better than a DB9.

Regards

Donal

Perhaps the two of you are suited to each other.
I'm glad that my wife wouldn't be impressed by
an Evo.

And yet virtually every pro driver is. I guess your wife is above
"pro" level since she alone discounts the achievement that the Evo
represents.

0-60??? Top speed???

You are talking absolute nonsense, as usual.

Wake up, Donal. It's 2008, not 1975. There are a LOT of fast cars out
there. The Euro spec's Evo is as fast as the DB9 and is FAR more agile
on the track in STOCK trim! Not only that, but you'd need a perfect
launch to get ahead of the AWD Evo. Like I said. It's 2008 and the
high end is about handling. If you wanna drag race, the DB9 loses to a
LOT of cars costing a LOT less.

The M3 is a boy's car. The DB9 is a man's car.

The M3 outhandles the DB9 easily, just like the Evo. How is a car that
shouts "look at me!" manly? DRIVERS prefer a Q car, which is why a lot
of Evo owners remove the wing.

Afraid??

No.

You're not making a good case.

Nah, you're not mad! This little debate has gone great for you! You're

I'm sorry. The McCain comparison was unjustified and I retract it.

I admit that you are correct when you say that
an Evo has more class than a DB9.

No, not MORE class. The DB9 is a classy car to be sure. But it's
simply not a better handling car than an Evo, M3 or GT-R and driving
enthusiasts are usually looking for handling and speed at the top end
first and foremost. In THAT class the DB9 loses to a lot of better
designed suspensions and drive trains.

You are a genius. Not many people would have
been able to figure out that an Evo would be more
desirable than a DB9.

Only a poor person will "desire" a car like the DB9 over an Evo. It
represents a level of wealth few people can attain. I could afford
one, but frankly I'd be crazy to buy one. I want fun, practicality and
performance in a car, not the best parking spot.

I am envious that your wife is intelligent enough
to see that your Evo is better than a DB9.

She sure does. She knows the DB9 would be useless around here on wet
or snowy roads and it stands out in a boastful way she does not enjoy.
She enjoys luxuries, like the hot tub I just bought her, but she
doesn't like to advertise them to the world.

Again, sorry about the McCain thing.

Nah.... my wife drives a Nissan Micra.

However, The Pro driver who tutored me on the
driving course seemed impressed with the DB9.

On the skid pan, he looked at me and said
"Not many people have spun a DB9 five times".

Will you ever spin a DB9? .....No, you won't.

Would you like to? Of course not! That is
the diference between you and I. You would
like to spin an Evo. I have higher aspirations.

Emmmm...... are you really asking why a 12 cylinder, 6L engine
car is manly??? Why don't you tell us about the rather gay
specs os the Evo?

DRIVERS prefer a Q car, which is why a lot
of Evo owners remove the wing.

DB9 owners remove nothing.

No.

Apology accepted. However, I must admit that my wife

I would argue this point with you.

Well, we will have to agree that you are a rich person
who can afford an Evo. You obviously are not poor
enough to be reduced to a DB9 which onlu costs about
5 times as much as a cheap Evo.

Good lord. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to show you the Nissan
Micra, one of the world's most unsafe cars:

http://www.euroncap.com/tests/nissan_micra_1997/9.aspx

You must truly love her.

However, The Pro driver who tutored me on the
driving course seemed impressed with the DB9.

Of course. It's his JOB. Do you think he's going to pan the car?
BWAHAHAHA!

Will you ever spin a DB9? .....No, you won't.

Nope, but I did spin a 959 and I have driven the GT-R on my own roads.
Both of those cars toast the DB9. Sorry.

Would you like to?

The DB9 is a road car first and foremost. I really have no interest in
testing the limits of a DB9 when a M series BMW handles better as does
the Evo.

Wake up, Donal. It's 2008, not 1975. There are a LOT of fast cars out
there. The Euro spec's Evo is as fast as the DB9

No, it isn't.

Yes it is. It has 400 HP and does 0-60 faster, handles better and will
also beat the DB9 from 60-120 mph as well. The Evo can also handle
snow, rain and dirt that leaves the DB9 in the garage. It's a complete
car, where the DB9 is not.

... and yet the only race between the two cars shows
that the Evo was absolutely thrashed!

On a highway the DB9's power will win. On a twisty road with a lot of
tight turns the Evo will win. If you want a car to do BOTH, then buy a
GT-R like I'm planning to do. Of course the GT-R is HUGELY faster than
the DB9.

Emmmm...... are you really asking why a 12 cylinder, 6L engine
car is manly??? Why don't you tell us about the rather gay
specs os the Evo?

Gay specs? The GT-R has a 6 and beats the DB9 to 60 MPH by a FULL
second. The Sean Ivey modded Evo will manage 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. But
none of this matters since the DB9 lacks AWD. It's half the car.

DB9 owners remove nothing.

Wrong. DB9 owners DO in fact modify with CF parts just like the Evo.
But the DB9 will never be a Q car.

Apology accepted. However, I must admit that my wife
bears some similarities to Sarah Palin.

I'm sorry to hear that. There's really nothing I like about Palin.
She's only good looking compared to McCain.

No, not MORE class. The DB9 is a classy car to be sure. But it's
simply not a better handling car than an Evo, M3

I would argue this point with you.

Why argue? Look up the specs on the Evo GSR and M3. They are dedicated
driving machines. The DB9 was never intended to handle as well. And
even the highly regarded M3 can't match the Evo's AWD system and
active yaw control.

or GT-R

I don't know about the GT-R.

Look it up. It has many of the Evo's handling touches, but with a 0-60
time of 3.2 seconds. A DB9 is not even close to that level of
performance. A GT-R will be the car to follow the Evo for me. It also
has AWD, making it a complete car, which the DB9 will never be.

and driving
enthusiasts are usually looking for handling and speed at the top end
first and foremost. In THAT class the DB9 loses to a lot of better
designed suspensions and drive trains.

No, it doesn't.

Well, then you disagree with just about every expert on cars.

Well, we will have to agree that you are a rich person
who can afford an Evo. You obviously are not poor
enough to be reduced to a DB9 which onlu costs about
5 times as much as a cheap Evo.

You don't get the point because you're not a driver. Why spend so much
on a car that does not offer top notch handling? At 90K a GT-R bests
the DB9 in EVERY performance spec that anyone would ever care about.
So you want a driving enthusiast to pay another 50K or more for
"class" as you define it? Get over yourself someday.

Default My New Boat!!! What did RB Pick????

More bad news for Donal......The new Evo with 400 HP and even more
suspension tweaks will go on sale next year. Dubbed the Evo FQ400 in
Europe, it will do 0-60 in just 3.6 seconds. That's nearly as fast as
the GT-R. By the time it hits the states (if it does), I'll probably
be driving the GT-R anyway.

DB what?

You're just like all the other penny pinching pseudo-rich arseholes. You
live in a shack, wear hand-me-down clothes, listen to second rate sound,
watch fuzzy projected video, drive a junker, and buy cheap knockoffs while
trying to convince yourself that they are as good or better than the real
thing. You believe any marketing hype that tells you you're living the life
of the rich and famous with your silly imitations.

I bet your wife wears Hannah Montana underwear.

wears them.

Haha! Sounds like I really struck a nerve!
Well, let's answer poor frustrated Donal, who needs a nice car to get
attention from his wife!
Suzanne IS impressed with the Evo.

That sort of says it all. I'm pleased to say that I really
do not believe that my wife would be impressed by an Evo.

In fact, before we bought the
Subaru Legacy Turbo, she noted how much better the Speed 6 was in
handling. He only objection to the Evo is the chassis feeling "up
high" at times, which is something most rally cars share.
Now, how can I show her what a failure I am by buying 4 nice cars in 3
years? Slow down when you get mad, Donal. You're not making any sense!

My wife has never even heard of a Subaro. She drives
a Nissan Micra. She thinks that the Lexus gs300 is a
"Nice Car". She loves the DB9. She thinks that I should
get one.
