I am installing a Ronco holding tank and they call for a supporting
box around the tank. It is an odd shaped tank and the carpentry would be difficult. Can I use the tank as a plug and do a fiberglass layup? Will the cure heat damage the tank? What layup schedule is recommended for this application? |

Ronco tanks are thick enough that it's not necessary to do more than support the bottom and secure it to keep it from moving. It is an odd shaped tank and the carpentry would be difficult. Is it possible to do a foam support?
Wrap plastic sheeting around the tank; immerse it into a throw-away outer box/form. Spray construction foam ( gingerly ) into the "form" until the entire tank is supported on all sides, as deep as you want the support. I'm not sure if the foam is closed cell and it may or may not absorb water over time, though. Just a thought. -- RichG .. exclude the x x when replying |

What do you recommend as a hold down method?? Are Ardemco and Todd tanks as good as Ronco?
