Cobra Terminator boat review?
In 1995 Cobra Boats produced a 30 foot Cat called the Terminator. I'm told
Powerboats Magazine did a review on that model, but I don't know what issue it was printed in. I called Powerboats Magazine and it seems they cannot locate an article (that far back) unless the print date is known. Any folks out there have some back issues from that era? I'd like to get a copy of that review or identify the issue so I can purchase it. Thanks for your help! Larry |

Cobra Terminator boat review?
From a bankruptcy hearing in 2001 at
http://www.njb.uscourts.gov/chambers...420_Casini.pdf ************************** FACTS Peter Casini has been around boats his whole life. He is now 44 years old. In 1991, Casini started a business designing, manufacturing and selling power boats under the Cobra trade name. He utilized a catamaran hull design with kevlar and fiberglass which gave the Cobra boats unique qualitites. Although his boats achieved some racing success and his fishing boats were featured with glowing praise in boating publications, his businesses all failed. Casini was the design talent behind several entities all of which are now defunct. He ended up in personal bankruptcy in 1997 and later filed an unsuccessful chapter 13 case. He has a foreclosure judgment against his residence and is behind in child support and taxes. He has relied on the generosity of family and friends for survival. ************************** More than you wanted to know. No sign of the magazine review. I've 'googled' various phrases trying to find more information on his early race days with this boat: http://www.cobraboats.com/cbra_about.html and more information about his production boat the Cobra 3000 (Terminator Cat). Cobra Terminator boat review?
I found the Jan 96 issue of PBR and the listing in that issue of their past
reviews which went back thur 94 didn't mention that boat. I don't remember reading about it in PBR. I do remember reading at review in Sal****er Sportsman (i think) and I think the article was by George Poveromo. I think the boat was a Cobra Predator? Back then this boat caused a big stir due to it's extreme performance. I, like my friends, was captivated by a fish boat going 80 and cruising at 60 getting 2+ mpg. A friend took a test run in one and someone down around New Orleans bought one which he flipped, so I was told. Since then I have seen what appears a redo of this boat exhibited at the Miami Boat show in perhaps a 34-36 length. It wasn't called a Cobra and that's all I know. Good luck and be careful!! -- Ron White Boat building web address is www.concentric.net/~knotreel |

After looking at your site, we are talking about different boats, sorry. The
Predator was a center console "fishing" version of what looked like or was very similar to the same hull as your boat. As I recall the were usually supplied with twin 225 hp Suzuki outboards which were mounted on hydraulic jack plates. I saw one at the New Orelans boat show maybe late 90's. And at least one fished a time or two from our home port. One another note, you are nuts!! But you probably already know that. Humm, let's see, twin 225's tee top extra weight = 80mph top end. No tee top, no console and other stuff 1400 hp = WAY TOO FAST! That said, it ought to be a fun project, good luck and be sure to have all test runs video taped to later be incorporated into the next edition of the "stupid deaths" video. ps, I want to be in that video too! -- Ron White Boat building web address is www.concentric.net/~knotreel |

You are right. He is nuts. I'ld love to see it run, but I'll be happy to watch it go by from my own boat from a dafe distance. Bob La Londe www.YumaBassMan.com |
