Hi folks
I'm about to commence gluing in the Perspex windows into windows inserts on an old Mason Marlin I'm restoring... Has anyone in New Zealand experience with this process / the products? Is Sikaflex 295 UV "Direct glazing adhesive for plastic glass in marine applications." the product to use? Any feedback appreciated to Must rush as I've a nice autumn morning to utilise |

Any feedback appreciated to Must rush as I've a nice autumn morning to utilise Ok yes I have done Perspex windows and I am in NZ. 295 does a good job BUT!!! there is a black primer you can get scuff and prime both the frame and the window where it's gonnar get glued in... not the whole window, also u want to space the window out a little from the frame if u push it in to far u squeeze all the goop out match sticks work well for this after it's all gone off like 2 or 3 days later u pull then out and fill the holes left. other than that just mask up well and wear gloves... don't be afraid of changeing gloves as u rearly don't want ne sika on the lovely varnish of ur Marlin. |
