Working on Engine in Storm-- Duh!!! Feared Lost at SEa
http://www.scpr.org/blogs/hettie-lyn...-indian-ocean/ What's wrong with Abby Sunderland? What a stupid thing to do. Working on her engine in a storm. 35-foot seas, 60 knot winds. Duh! Why is it that today's so-called sailor can't wean themselves off their motors? What good is a motor anyway in a storm in the middle of an ocean? Forget the motor and take care of managing the ship under sail, bare poles, drogue or what have you but stop with the insanity of relying on the motor. Wilbur Hubbard |

Brian W Moron. You're putting the cart before the horse. She was working on the engine when she got dismasted. She was working on the engine so she could charge the batteries for communications because they were low. Her not paying attention to business (sailing) CAUSED the dismasting. This is NOT seamanship. This is lunacy. But, what else can be expected from a teen girl with the last name of Sunderland. Her failed voyage was nothing but a publicity STUNT by stupid parents who happily risk the life of their offspring because they are publicity whores. Wilbur Hubbard |
