Does anyone know if there are any Colin Archer design boats
available as kits; in various stages of completion?
Thanks,
Tim

you might try the john hanna desgins, they are similar and either is a great
design.

ask around in the Pac. NW as I seem to remember someone saying that the
Westsail molds are still floating around.

To those that difficulties in reading the text:
"The traditional yachts of Haukilahti boatyard,
Colin Archer 30 and 40, designed by Christian Lydman....

I have no idea how close these fiberglass designs are to original Colin
Archer boats.

The Westsail mold and production was in Costa Mesa CA.

However the Ingrid 38 was produced by Bluewater boats in Woodinville WA and
the molds are still available from Bill Ingerson (also in Woodinville). (I'd
have to do some searching to find his address.)

There are still a couple incomplete Ingrid hulls around. I found mine in
'94, sitting under a cover, in the woods of western WA. Just as it had come
out of the mold in '76. New (circa '76) Volvo engine waiting for me to
complete the installation it. Got the whole package for $10,000. The
original owner had paid (according to the Bluewater invoice) over $18,000 in
'76.. ('whole package' was just the hull, no deck, no tanks, no ballast, no
rudder, etc. Bluewater boats had installed all 5 1" bulkheads and did a
excellent job on both the hull lay-up and the bulkheads. Best glass work I
have ever seen.)
