Thinking about halyards an such and after reading an article somewhere
a few days ago about a synthetic material thathas two modes got me thinking. This odd material was made of fibers that would either be slack or would coil up like springs depending on temperature. So.............Make halyards from it. Run a wire through it to carry current to heat it. With no heating, its like a bungee cord that tries to pull your sails up the mast, flip a switch and it goes slack and your sails fall down. OK, I admit, I been drinkin. |
