I have been plaqued by a leak in my water pump. I have changed the o-ring
twice without improving things. My next plan of attack is to make a gasket for it. Is there any potential problems with this approach. Can anyone suggest anything else. Thanks Boris |

sounds like a scratched o-ring sealing surface. I'd take some #300 SiC
sandpaper to it rubbing IN THE DIRECTION of the o-ring, that is circumferentially. |

On the other hand, if the seal around the shaft is bad, the pump will
leak there. It isnt too expensive to replace. Been there, done that. |

I vaguely remember there may be a tiny weep hole in the body so that
when the shaft seal goes it leaks from that. It's been awhile. |
