We've come into Miami airport many times, but this time when we took
off, the terrain below didn't look familiar. Can anyone identify
these 8 photos? The top one was taken last, and the rest (2 through 8
were taken in order as the plane took off and gained altitude.

==============================================

The area in question is just north of mile marker 1085 on the ICW.
From left to right (west to east), the three islands on the causeway
are North Bay Island, Treasure Island and Normandy Isle.

The one on the bottom shows Haulover inlet looking from South to North.

I think if you start there you can work out your flight path.

Two and three are of N. Bay Village which is the one with the U
on the top. Four is the Isle of Normandy. The highway connecting
them to the mainland and Miami Beach is the 934. Five I believe
is Allison Island and the buildings on the southeast end are
part of St Francis Hospital. In the upper left of six is Bay
Shore Islands connected to the mainland and the Beach by the
Kane Causeway, which is in the background of number three. Btw,
I was there on Bay Shore seeing a specialist three days before
the hurricane decided to pay them a visit. The foreground I
think is Miami Beach. Seven is Indian Creek and Allison Island
in the top center. I can't think of the last one. I am looking
at your pictures and the mapping program that we use in the
motorhome. I hope this helps or someone can set me straight. I
have only been there a few times and will have to go back in a
few months.

Bob said he thought it was Haulover, so I'll tell him he was right.

I think if you start there you can work out your flight path.

Btw,

The proper name is the Kane Concourse. It was very late last
night and after a long day when I shouldn't have been posting.

I think I've got things labeled now by using charts and maps
