I heard some nice things about Decks Olje in the Le Tonkinois thread
down below. In the same vein, I would like to know, is it just a teak oil with some additives that make it a little longer lasting and nicer underfoot or is it significantly different? I'd buy it for my teak based on what I heard but it only comes in paint type cans at the store I was in and I'd much prefer screw tops for storage on the boat and convenience in wetting our rags for occasional touch up. There's also the price and I note that Practical Sailor prefers something else (I've forgotten which). If it's all about the same, I would put up with slightly less durability and appearance for more convenient packaging and better price. It's going over previously varnished teak so it isn't going to be true Bristol fashion anyway. However, if it is significantly different in composition or durability, I'd like to know. -- Roger Long |
