Default The most silent outboard motor?

Hi there..

I'm seeking the most silent 4-stroke outboard motor with about 50 hp. Do you
have any suggestions?

I've heard that Mariner's motors are very silent, but it that true?

Sincerely
tChAd

Ain't no such thing. There's no way to be more silent, let alone most
silent. Silent is binary. Either it is or it isn't.

In the small motors, Yamaha brags that their 4 stroke 2.5 hp is quite a bit
quieter than the 2 hp Honda air cooled.
Does that mean Yamaha is the *quietest* ?

H-O-N-D-A

Ask for it by name.

Every crabber crabbing by my house either has one or wants one.....

Quiet and more importantly, RELIABLE.

Any motor will be silent enough if you disconnect the spark plug
wires.

Depends where you're using it. Hondas are quiet but don't expect to
fix it if you're in Mexico. Lack of parts, dealers and mechanics.
