Hi folks
I am the proud new owner of an old boat with an old whisker pole. The twist lock mechanism no longer work and the pole will not lock. There is a bolt through the middle followed by a plastic plate some rubber and some more plastic. I would appreciate any tips on how to repair this. Thanks Boris |

That plastic plate or the rubber is actually a cam, and typically either the outside edge gets worn or the center hole enlarged. See which it is for you and try to correct. Probably the most likely fix is to drill a hole through the two sections so you can put a bolt or plunger-pin through to lock them together in the extended position. -- Jere Lull Xan-a-Deux ('73 Tanzer 28 #4 out of Tolchester, MD) Xan's Pages: http://members.dca.net/jerelull/X-Main.html Our BVI FAQs (290+ pics) http://homepage.mac.com/jerelull/BVI/ |
