Always had very good luck with SIMRAD/Robertson pilots.

I'm going to add an autopilot to our 31' sailing boat. The
boatbuilder says he's had really good experiences with ST4000 - he
likes the remote flux gate compass and says he's found it top be a
reliable unit, more so than the smaller Raymarine units.

The electronics shop says that they worry about St400's due to
problems with moisture in the works, He recommends the cheaper Simrad
unit.

I'm not sure where else to go for advice or user experience so I'm
hoping that some of you who have had actual experience with these
autopilots can give me an idea what your opinions are.
