Finally!
 

Winter has finally left us. Our last snow was only a week ago, and its now
in the mid 70's outside. Essie is still wearing her winter coat, which I
will take off today. She is scheduled for launch anytime this week, as soon
as I have her ready for the water. Finally, I can go sailing again. Yee haw!

Water temp at the mouth of our harbour... 36 F. We're movin' on up!
Air temp at the same buoy... a cool 40.8 F

Air temperature in the mid '80's, water in the high '70's. Spent most
of the day sailing yesterday. Might do a little diving today. What's
this season thing of which you speak?

I know that it's hard to believe, but in some parts of the world, for
several months out of the year, the water becomes solid. Like the ice in
your drinks, only much, much bigger. I'm not lying. It really does happen.
And this white stuff falls from the sky. Like volcanic ash, only very cold
and it won't hurt you unless you get caught outside for a long time. Then
you'll become like a popsicle, only all over.

Most sane people spend these months of the year indoors, wishing for summer.
That's one of those "season" things, when it's warm outside.

Nope. Most sane people spend those months in southern latitudes
where ice is for drinks and the boat never needs to be winterized.
