Amazon.com sells the Vector chargers and NO SALES TAX. The 2/10/20/35
sells for $75. Delivery takes a couple of weeks. We've used this
charger and it works great. A lot of RF noise but who cares you just
wait to use your SSB or other RF receiver when the charger is completed.

Good priced, too. The SAME charger at Waste Marine is $130!

I have been following this thread, but missed a point. How does the charger
deal with gel cells? I looked at one in West and it does not seem to have
any ability to change the max voltage.

It's for charging real batteries, not gelcells....

Hmmm. Do I detect a note of sarcasm there? Though I do agree with you,
given my one experiebnce with a gell cell.

Funny you should send this on the day one of the damned red AGM batteries
in my diesel stepvan service truck went tits up, dragging the other damned
red AGM battery to dead that is in parallel with it during the night. I
cranked it on the golf cart "house" batteries through the marine ON-OFF
switch, this morning. It got to 170 degrees F when I checked on it later
this afternoon and I rushed to Batteries Plus for a replacement ($90 with
rebate for old AGM). The battery tester computer was laughing at it when
they hooked it up to the old battery.....BZZZZT-FAILED The other AGM
recharged to 770 CCA according to the "tester" they put on it...PASSED.
So, I guess I saved half only having to replace one of them.

Larry...

I was sorely tempted to dump both AGMs and buy two 6V starting batteries to
series in their places.
