There's always the possibility that this is a great place _because_ we know

It's possible. But there are a lot of mindless people who will jump in
here and make it just like rec.boats, only without the fishing threads.

I certainly don't mind intelligent well-reasoned discussions of
politics, especially when there are issues raised that are important for
cruising, such as the Cuba prohibition and the ICW neglect. And most
regulars here would most likely be fine with that.

But we've already seen malicious personal attacks on contributors such
as Chuck Gould, motivated solely by spite of what he's posted in another
newsgroup. More of that? No, thanks.

You need to read "Eats, Shoots and Leaves" by Lynn Truss. GREAT book
for apostrophobes.

Note: Usually I put the author first but I am not sure how to make
Truss posessive. Truss'? Truss's? Truss'es?

Thanks for the suggestion, Chris. BTW is this your work?

"DC arcs are harder to quench than AC, this can cause the
contacts to rapidly erode and/or weld together."

Google maintains that it is.

Here's the offer. I'll stop making mindless typos if you'll stop writing
mindless run-on sentences.

read what the "U.S.A. Patriot Act" has done to your constitutional
rights? Wake up and smell the coffee kids, you don't have any
constitutional rights any longer.

Or that since *you* are already posting politics, and nothing but
politics, to another sailing group, you don't need to repeat that
pattern here.
