I have a problem with my Garmin GPS II+ unit. It's a second hand one, I just
bought it. Now it seems that the internal memory battery is not working. When I unload the AA batteries, I always lose all waypoints and information I have loaded into my unit. I have contacted Garmin and my local dealer, the price for internal battery replacement over US$ 100. Has anyone opened Garmin GPS II+ unit, is it possible to install a new battery by myself? What is the memory battery type used in Garmin GPS II+? Any experiences? My local dealer is having a summer break, so it takes also a lot of time to fix the unit, so if I can replace the battery by my own, thing would be much easier. Thank you for your replies Jaakko Pitkäjärvi Finland |
