Furuno Radar interface to GPS 45
I am having no luck interfacing my old Furuno 1621 radar with my Garmin
GPS45. I have tried setting the GPS for NMEA/NMEA I/O but cannot get the radar to display nav data (I have set the Radar menu setting to display data) I only have 2 wires from the radar white & green which I assume is rxd and gnd. Cant see anywhere to set baud rate. BTW - I know the GPS can transmit data as it hooks up fine to my PC. If anyone has this setup working I'd really appreciate some pointers - thanks |

Furuno Radar interface to GPS 45
"Steve Inglis" wrote in message ... I only have 2 wires from the radar white & green which I assume is rxd and gnd. Rxd is recieve data into the radar. It would be connectered to the Txd (transmit data) from the GPS. I have my Furuno GPS connected to my Furuno 1721 radar and my computer and they both work fine with the 4800, etc. standard settings. If all else fails, you might want to check if the radar is set to recieve Furuno CIF format rather than NMEA. In my radar that requires the changing of a jumper inside on the SPU Board. (this is seldom the problem unless a previous installation required the CIF change over.) Steve s/v Good Intentions |
