Can't offer much info on actual use. I bought one myself and still have
it new in the box because I changed my steering system before installing
it. Before that I felt it would suit my needs.

I've been considering exactly the same thing for my 18.5' Sea Doo jet boat.
FWIW, when I asked Bombardier (the manufacturer) about it, they said that
any installation would void their warranty, so I think I am going to wait
until the warranty runs out later this year. I only mention this in case
your Sea Ray is new - you might want to consider the effect.

I've been using the SP+ for two seasons and it's been fine so far.
Mine is installed on a 28ft Marinette and it's right at it's capacity
limit. So you should be fine with the 18ft.
