Default Looking for a broken Datamarine 3000 or 3030 (depth sounder/repeater)

Hello,

The LCD display on my 3030 depth sounder (20 years old) is too faded
for reading and Datamarine doesn't carry a replacement part anymore

If someone has a broken 3000 or 3030 for resale (LCD are the same...)
just tell me because I will be able to get the LCD from one of those
unit.

I am in SF Bay Area and it is better to contact me via email at:

eric at groxis.com

just replace at with @

Thanks.

p.s: I don't have access to newsgroups beside of Google Groups so if
you want to contact me it is better to post a followup to my email.

Hello Eric,

Actually we have the LCD replacement for the 3030 & 3000. It is not a
direct plug in replacement so the unit will need to be sent in to our
facility for a slight modification so we can install an adaptor board
to hold to new LCD. It works great and will give your old faded 3030
new life. You can contact us at

Default Lee keel offset

Hello Lee,

You don't mention the model of the sounder but if it the S200DL it
does not have a keel offset. The only readings you will see are from
below the face of the transducer. If you have a different model
sounder please email me and I will be happy to let you know if there
is an adjustment or not.

Steve,

I thought that Datamarine was no longer in business. Perhaps you
could answer my question. I have a Datamarine depth sounder but
cannot figure out any way to adjust the reading to give me an accurate
depth since the transducer is a few feet below the waterline. I have
a manual for a slightly more modern Datamarine depth sounder on
another boat, but it also does not have any instructions on how to
compensate for the location of the sounder. Any help would be
appreciated.

Hello Lee,
I had posted a response to your question earlier, but for some reason
it didn't take.
If your instrument is a S200DL then there is not a keel offset
adjustment on this model. All readings are from beneath the face of
the transducer. If you have another model depth sounder, please
contact me by email and I can let you know how to make the adjustment
(if it is possible).
