Hello,
When viewing eastern Lake Ontario and western St.Lawrence river using Lowrance's Map Create 5 programming in my laptop, the Canadian waters points of interest, small islands and their coastline side of the lake/river is "not there" when viewing in the upclose and "usable" boating magnification setting. Of course, when I zoom out, (magnification setting 46.0 or greater), I see the Canadian waterways points of interest, coastline etc.., but in such a miniature detail that would be unsafe during boating. My preowned boat came equiped with the Lowrance lcX-16ci unit and Map Create 5 cd rom software and cables. My only area of boating operation will be from eastern Lake Ontario to west of Montreal on the St.Lawrence River, generally in US waters. My question(s) are... 1) Does the newer Map Create 6 address and correct this country border magnification conflicts? 2) What if I purchase the new FreedomMaps F-15 card http://www.lowrance.com/Mapping/Free...images/f15.gif will the Canadian side resolution be usable, or will I be buying something I've already got (with Map Create 5) ?? 3) Lastly, since the X-16 can hold 2 cards, what if I purchase both the Canadian F-30 card http://www.lowrance.com/Mapping/Free...images/f30.gif and the US F-15 card, although they overlap, will I have a seamless transistion while boating with GPS in a usable upclose magnification? Thanks, Brett Slack |
