I have seen some comments recently about boats with hydraulically
driven alternators but have been unable to locate a source or any additional information. Does anyone here know where to locate either? Anyone familiar with pros and cons vs belt driven? |

I have used hydraulic drive alternators. I dont recommend them unless you MUST
locate an alternator in a place where belt drive is impractical. Complex, not nearly as efficient as belt drive and it generates much more acoustic noise than you'd expect. Mark |
