Default Typical resistance of fuel sender?

Can anyone tell me the typical range of resistance for a fuel sender
unit? It appears to be a bog standard type for a diesel tank and was
wired incorrectly by the 'electrician'.

Thanks
Rob

Standard ranges are 240 ohms empty to 33 ohms full for US senders and 10
ohms empty to 180 ohms full for European senders. Stewart Warner, VDO and
Faria all make guages for both ranges. As far as I can tell Gaffrig and
Teleflex only make guages for the US range.
