Horizon SL45
Can anyone provide information as to why the Horizon SL45 gauge is
back-ordered so long? Is there an alternative 4" round gauge to fit in a bulkhead cutout? My sailboat originally had a datamarine guage (no longer available). I already put in the Airmar ST650 paddlewheel that goes with the SL45 but will change it if need be. |

Hi Mike, From what we understand there are production issues at Standard. We have had these on order since last March and we have just about given up. I would recommend, as an alternative, that you go with a Navman instrument. The bad news is that Navman requires only a 2" hole. Most of our customers purchase a Navman and they typically mount a piece of treated marine plywood behind the existing 4" hole. Once the plywood is mounted, you cut a 2" hole in the center of the plywood and mount the instrument. We have been recommending Navman simply because their line of instruments are large enough to cover the entire 4" hole. You can find more about Navman at www.navman.com Lisa www.ultimatepassage.com |
