Why, is your Al-Queda notebook missing a few pages?

There is a reasonable amount of information on the Net about AIS, but it's
pretty spread out, and most of the really technical information is in manuals
from IEC, ITU & NMEA, and they cost hundreds of dollars each.

I recently bought a full AIS base station & mobile station & had trouble
getting info on the subject so I started a group/mailing list at:

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/Maritime_AIS/

Since then I've been pretty busy installing the whole system, but have learnt
a lot - even found a pretty serious bug in the system which will probably
come out as a Notice to Mariners shortly.

The mailing list doesn't have much on it at the moment, but now that I am
back in civilization I will be able to participate more, and hope to attract
more people that use or want to use the system.

Dave
