Default CALCULATION OF EARTH RESISTANCE IN MULTI-LAYER EARTH STRUCTURE.

I am PhD student and I doing some work on grounding resistance and I
would like to develop a formula for CALCULATION OF EARTH RESISTANCE IN
MULTI-LAYER EARTH STRUCTURE. and compare it with some field
measuremnts...What do you think? Is it possible to develop such this
formula?
Just want to remind you again that my case of study (calculation of
Earth resistance for the driven rod in a horizontally stratified
multi-layer earth at non-homogeneous earth).
If any body have any papers to help or any advice please do
I would like to thank you in advance

If your doctorate will be issued by a university with toll-free numbers on
the outside of a matchbook cover, then here is what you do:

Call any one of the dozens of Electric Utility companies, and especially the
Electric Power Research Institute, and tell them you want to borrow their
patented and trademarked programs and formulas for earth resistance in
multi-layer earth structure.

You're at least twenty years late in resolving that question. But you might
consider asking the US National Fire Protection Institute, why it's National
Electrical Code states that if 25 ohms or less cannot be achieved with a
service-entrance grounding electrode, then a second grounding electrode must
be used. (no matter if both rods have 1,000 ohms R each, just use a second
one and the inspector has to pass it).

Hello Ram,I am also PhD and my work is close to yours

IEEE 142
if sl
R=(p*(log(8*l/d)+log(4*l/s)-2+(s/(2*l))-((s^2)/(16*l^2))+((s^4)/(512*l^4))))/(2*n*pi*l)

if sl
R=(p*((log(8*l/d))-1))/(2*n*pi*l)+(p*(1-((l^2)/(3*s^8))+((2/5)*((l^4)/(s^4)))))/(2*n*pi*s)

What does this have to do with this newgroup?
