Any of you hams on Echolink?
I've just started cranking up Echolink when I'm sitting here, listening to
the tropical depression pouring the Atlantic Ocean over my house at the moment. God it's raining hard in Charleston right now.... If any of you hams are on Echolink, give W4CSC a connect. I got my conference enabled whenever I'm connected with broadband for a roundtable. I'd like to hear what you sound like after all this time typing to the newsgroup. If there's interest, might be a good place to put a boater conference server, too. I got plenty of bandwidth and the system runs 24/7 anyways... Any licensed ham with dialup can use Echolink's VOIP system. The owners of the system restrict usage to amateurs because of the connected radio systems. Any ham license will do from any state. Any hams interested but haven't used it, can email me from my QRZ callsign page and I'll help you get it running. Another good excuse to GET YOUR HAM RADIO LICENSES! I was just talking to a guy with a walkie talkie on his club repeater in Japan. Great fun. -- Larry W4CSC |
