Default AIS & Icom IC-M1

We are in Singapore waters at the moment and AIS would be great. The
handheld Icom IC-M1 has a defective transmit section (told by
experts!!) but will receive well.
An AIS website details the mods required to change many VHF radios to
receive raw AIS data - but no details on the Icom hand held.
Are details of the connections in the set available that I can carry
out on board.

Take a look at http://www.packetradio.com/, he has mods for 9600 bps
packet for most radios.
