New live AIS network
We are currently building a new free live AIS network. We plan to show live AIS data from all around the world on a Google Maps interface and we are looking for anyone who is interested in sharing his local AIS data with us.
If you want to see your local port or stretch of coastline covered, please do not hesitate to contact us, we would love to hear from you. BTW, the service will look like this (with Firefox, still working on IE): http://www.y-tronic.com/live/AIS11_Oslo.htm , but we are open for suggestions for improvements. : http://www.y-tronic.com/live/AIS11_Oslo.htm Thank you for the link, Holger. I will be watching for the data to show up in the near future. What everyone needs to do who is contemplating putting AIS on the net is to contact the guys at AIS Liverpool and get the finest software I've seen anywhere on the planet. Tour around this wonderful website and check out the amazing features of this free service.... http://www.aisliverpool.org.uk/ He even has saved webcam pictures of every ship that visits Liverpool, snapped whenever they pass by the webcam transmitting AIS so the software knows where they are for the best shot. Those that visit frequently have many pictures on each ship's own page....an amazing feat. -- There's amazing intelligence in the Universe. You can tell because none of them ever called Earth. |
