Machine tool wise the metric system is a bad joke. All the lead and
pitch profiles are much less strong than the US system or even the old Whitworth system.... remember that when youre flying in a EU built aircraft, etc. Then again, think about how much its costing your wallet for a non-EU manufacturer to be compliant to the EU "CE" or "ISO" standards ... all in the name of bureacratic BS. If this all wasnt just solely a means of one-ups-manship and overt unfair trade control then it could be funny. Just remember this is what you get when you install authoritarian socialism .... nothing make 'sense' and you HAVE to blindly follow the 'rules' .... ask Microsoft how they feel about the EU. Yeah, all measuration in units of 10, just like our numbering system. How could anything make less sense? Hmm, I guess you could have the Imperial system, where an there are twelve inches in a foot, 3 feet in a yard, 5280 feet in a mile which was derived from 8 furlongs. |
