Public service announcment
"Tom Francis - SWSports" wrote in message ... Well, take Movie Gallery for instance. They filed for Chapter 11 in 2007 I think and they are still in business and they still honor gift cards. Home Depot is no where near Chapter 11 terrority and neither is Disney. Stores may close - that is always a possibility, but that doesn't mean the company is in Chapter 11. And you have to remember that Chapter 11 does not mean that they can't honor gift cards - Chapter 11 is just a method of reorganizing an dkeeping the creditors at bay until the restructuring is completed. I agree and the list is not a "bankruptcy" list. It's a list of local store closings, either due to downsizing or bankruptcy. For example, several Home Depot's are closing. They are not in bankruptcy (yet). They are just downsizing. The problem with having a gift card that you bought at the Home Depot the next town over may mean the recipient might have to drive 100 miles to another store to redeem it. Eisboch |

There are seven of them within 30 miles of me. Three of them are within 10 miles of each other. :) |

Eisboch You can't swing a dead cat and not hit a Home Depot around here. There is a 5-6 mile stretch on *one* road that has three. Your point is valid on the others. I received the same email at work today. |
