parts guy was very helpful. Yes, I did have to buy a $70 relay kit
consisting of a very complicated wiring harness, 3 relays, a trailer
connector and mounting hardware AND I had to remove the passenger side
kick panel to install this stuff, BUT, It works.
Is'pose the days of just running some wires to the tail lights are
gone and I have no idea of why this system is so complicated. At
least it works.........until it stops working and someone has to
diagnose it.

I took no chances. Had the hitch and wiring done by the dealers when I
bought the truck. Didn't want any warranty issues to come up if something
went wrong.

In other words, I wimped.
