We got the first appt by the service rep this morning, pays to have the "gold plan" for service Last time mine *went, it was the control unit. The local guys wanted $495 for part, plus labor. I found the part online for $85, but could not buy it without an HVAC license. Luckily I have a brother in law in the electric business. He got me the part, and I was able to put it in myself. No problems -- yet. But, that was about five years ago.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - That's why we get the plan we do.. Basically everything is covered and when you have the Gold Plan you are guaranteed a service call within three hours of your call, or something like that. I paid nothing and had a guy there within on hour of calling.. The temp here never got below 65F. I got an old fellow here, can't take chances. My house in Essex has a brandy new slantfin so I don't worry too much about it, plus I have a wholesale house down the street that treats me like a contractor so I can get whatever I need... |
