A US Navy submarine and an American amphibious ship have collided in
the
Strait of Hormuz.

The stretch of water is between Iran and the Arabian peninsula.

According to the navy's Bahrain-based 5th Fleet, the USS Hartford
submarine was submerged before the crash.

Fifteen soldiers aboard the Hartford were slightly injured but able
to
return to duty.

No injuries were reported on the amphibious ship, the USS New
Orleans.

But the ship suffered a ruptured fuel tank, which resulted in an oil
spill
of approximately 25,000 gallons of diesel.

The damage to both vessels is still being evaluated.

Both ships are currently operating under their own power. The crash
is
currently under investigation.

The Navy said both ships were on regularly scheduled deployments to
the
region and conducting security operations.

Officials said the collision happened about 1am local time.

Maybe our naval ships would be better "captained" by ferry boat
operators,
who are usually sharp enough to pay attention to where they are
going.

Was Flatulent Jim back on active duty?

More 'independent thinking', Don?

Well .....please warn me if you ever go back on active duty.

That's because I didn't, and you know it. YOU did, however fetch beer

ANYTHING? Also, are you denying that you stated here that you had to
go get more beer for your son?

Still looking for those "facts" that you claim to have........
You stated that I broke my daughter's arms. Let's see your "facts"
You stated that I grow pot. Let's see your "facts".
You stated that I smoke pot. Let's see your "facts".

Now, you stated right here in rec.boats that your son drank all of
your beer and you had to go get more. THAT is fetching him beer.

Nah, he's just stupid. He has learned, however, from his fat nasty

You really do have a problem with this comprehension thing......
The beer I "fetched" was for *me*.....replacing the beer my son had given me
as a present and then helped himself to.

*Now* you're showing some 'independent thinking'!

You act as though 'truth' matters to you. Yet I see you jumping on and
propounding lies quite often.

How much of your beer does your kid go through every day? Why not put
a small fridge down there and just put in a case or two every week?

Hee.hee... facilitating again Johnny?
If my son wants wine (doesn't drink beer..some kind of health kick), he buys
his own.
I have thought about his own small 'bar fridge' ....but more for all his
'healthy food' and drink (orange juice etc.)
He works out at least three times a week at the gym and is a good solid 200
lbs on a 6' 2" frame.
...and yes, I can still compete with him in close combat (in-fighting), but
as far as striking goes..... not so much.
(then again, maybe he just takes it easy on the 'old man')
