Can you imagine how much easier our job would be in Afghanistan if we spent a small fraction of our military budget building schools and hospitals and finding means other than the poppy for citizens to make a living? This the front that we should be fighting in order to undermine bin Laden and the Taliban. It doesn't help that America's most important export is military equipment, armaments and parts. Everything looks like a nail to our hammer. |
