Give me a break. In other words, unless I subscribe to the liberal thinking of you and jps, I am automatically "one of them". Talk about shallow, narrow minds. I know that both of you are smarter than that. Both of you should throw away your talking point notes and start speaking for yourselves, using your own brains. Eisboch "Moderate" conservative. snerk Like I suggested , .... oh, never mind. Your too programmed. Eisboch Ok, ok. "You're" BTW .... You crack me up. A while back ... year or so ago ... when we could discuss things more rationally, you identified me as a "moderate" conservative with whom you didn't have a major problem with in terms of political viewpoints. But now, according to you and your puppy, I am a bible thumping, far right, knuckle dragging Neanderthal, a relic from the dark ages. What happened? I haven't changed a bit. Eisboch Your party has. I didn't say you were a bible-thumping, far-right, whatever. But that is what is controlling your party. What I am snickering at now are you attempts to move away from what your party has become by describing yourself as a "moderate" conservative. According to your party, you a a RINO, something they want to be rid of... It's not you...it's your party. You might be happier with the Libertarians, although they seem to be going through another crazy period. Ain't politics fun? My mother, a lifelong Republican from Boston, would have never tolerated what her grand old GOP has become. She was a very minor political functionary in our home county, and would have raised holy hell at local meetings if that GOP had descended into today's GOP. |

![]() "HK" wrote in message m... I'm just laughing at your attempt to differentiate yourself from the "mainstream" of your crazed political party and its crazier beliefs. Your party is under the control of lunatics, Richard. Unless you are prepared to fight them tooth and nail, and use proven community organizing techniques to push it back towards the center, you will live long enough to see it die and be buried. If I might, I suggest you read Saul Alinsky's books, learn the lessons, and work with others of moderation to co-opt the right wing radicals in charge of the GOP, marginalize them, and work to create a political party whose greatest appeal is NOT to southern white men. A. I am not a Republican. I am a conservative. B. I am not interested, or even pretend to think I can change the world. I believe in thinking for yourself and allowing others to think for themselves. C. Apparently to you and other liberals, if I am not actively denouncing the viewpoints of the far right, I must be one of them. Your thinking has narrowed. Eisboch |

I am not a Democrat. I think for myself. My viewpoints may not always be correct or well thought out, but I don't automatically subscribe to any political party's agenda. I am of a conservative bent and believe in many of the Republican philosophies but often also embrace Democratic and yes, even some "liberal" ideas. You purebred liberals are having a field day right now because you have conveniently lumped all Republicans into one category. Yes, it's fun, but it's not truthful. That has been the point I've tried to make several times. There are more liberals making noise about Rush than most of us with more conservative viewpoints. I understand the purpose. It's just not honest. Eisboch |

Listening to him makes me ill and it's a tremendous waste of time and energy. It's time to ignore him so we can focus on what needs to be accomplished. That's about the most intelligent statement you have made in a long time. Most moderate conservatives have know that for years. It's encouraging to see some of you liberals catching up. Eisboch By your standards. I don't live by your standards. But, it should make you consider that you're way the hell to the right and need a little adjustment. I am "way the hell to the right" because I don't subscribe to Rush's ranting (or even listen to him)? You are in another dimension pal. My point is that liberals seem to make a bigger deal and listen to him more than moderate conservatives. Try again. Eisboch I don't care whether you listen to Rush. However, he is driving the "conservative" message. The conservative dialogue involves fringe players and has beens from the past like Newt. The right's lunacy is a tool used to attract attention from the left and keep the agenda on partisanship rather than solutions. The leaders of your movement are a bunch of second-rate hacks and the dems aren't much better but we've got real problems to solve and all the Rs can do is shoot arrows. ****ing ridiculous. If this were 2003, we'd be accusing conservatives of providing aid and comfort to the enemy and guilty of sedition. All your buddy Tom can do is carp. Where's the constructive criticism of a real "worthy opponent?" Missing in action. |

Psst - there's a name for guys like Jon and Harry. big·ot – noun - a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion. I know that both of you are smarter than that. There's your first mistake. Both of you should throw away your talking point notes and start speaking for yourselves, using your own brains. Here's another word for you. prej·u·diced – noun - an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason - any preconceived opinion or feeling, either favorable or unfavorable - unreasonable feelings, opinions, or attitudes, esp. of a hostile nature, regarding a racial, religious, or national group. When you think about it - it's pretty much "hate speech". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hate_speech Funny how all this works huh? |
