Default Boat radio

Well, I really like the new boat, but never liked the head unit it
came with. It was a Kenwood KTS-300MR, and while it was a fine radio,
it didn't have the features I wanted.

It had AM/FM/CD and a port that could be used for Sirius, but that
left me with only the FM modulator option for iPod. No good.

I just got in a Kenwood KMR-700U. It is a transport-less unit,
meaning no CD drive. AM/FM, with an iPod interface that will do my
iPhone3G, and a USB port for stick memory filled with MP3's. Also a
port for direct Sirius receiver connection, and it's marine IPX5
rated.

The face flips down to reveal a water-resistant compartment to put the
iPod/USB stick in, and the faceplate controls run the iPod in a native
format. There is a seperate "box" that houses the main electronics,
including the 4x50 watt amp. This is one slick radio. Hope to
install it this weekend.
