Another abuser of constituent's trust...

Anti-gay, pro-abstinence legislator had affair with intern

Posted By Raw Story On July 24, 2009 @ 9:57 am

A Republican state senator from Tennessee–who is married and the
father of two– has admitted to police that he had sex with a 22 year
old intern after her boyfriend [1] allegedly demanded money from the
legislator to not make public a video of the legislator and intern
having sex.

State Sen. Paul Stanley only recently sponsored legislation designed
to prohibit gay couples in his home state from ever adopting children.
He has also opposed family planning services, explaining that his
“faith and church” require him to “promote abstinence.” And Stanley
has run as a “pro-family” candidate in his campaigns for the Tennessee
State Senate.

On Thursday, Stanley resigned his chairmanship of the Tennessee State
Senate’s Commerce committee.

Stanley himself admitted to police that he had had a “sexual
relationship” with the intern and had taken nude pictures of her in
“provocative poses,” according to [2] a sworn affidavit police made
public yesterday. The couple also filmed a video of themselves having
sex together.

Stanley went to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation alleging that
boyfriend of the intern was attempting to blackmail him. The boyfriend
has been charged with attempting to extort the state legislator of
$10,000, after Stanley worked undercover with police to nab the
boyfriend. A grand jury also continues to investigate the matter.

The alleged extortion scheme apparently began last April after Stanley
received a text message from the intern’s boyfriend saying: “Good
morning sir, how are you this fine day? McKensie and I have been
talking and I feel that I have a video and some pictures you might be
interested in seeing. This is her boyfriend, that guy you met outside
Walgreens.”

In another text, the boyfriend allegedly wrote Stanley: “10,000 small
bills, 20’s … Be smart because I will take all of us down you have
until 10 am to reply with cash in fist.”

The boyfriend, Joel Watts, has denied wrongdoing, [3] saying in one
interview:

“If you had found out or seen video or tape of your wife in the act,
you could probably generalize and feel how I felt. This gentleman had
an obligation to not take advantage of situations. At the time, yes I
was mad at McKensie. I was mad at him. During this time. I was
thinking this man needs to be exposed. I need to bring this house of
cards down.”

Despite such incriminating text messages, Watts had denied asking
Stanley for money, saying instead that it was Stanley who originally
breached the subject to him.

Last March, Stanley introduced legislation that would have outlawed
gay and lesbian couples in Tennessee from being able to adopt
children: “When you’re married,” Stanley said at the time, “there’s a
commitment there.” Of course, Stanley also opposes the right of gay
and lesbian couples in his state to marry or have civil unions.

Meanwhile, the publicity about Stanley’s affair with his intern has
resurrected allegations of spousal abuse. In 1994, his first wife
filed [4] a restraining order against Stanley. The ex-wife alleged
that Stanley had physically assaulted her at least three times. She
also claimed in the restraining order that Stanley “verbally abused”
the couple’s children.

The current Mrs. Stanley, Zachary Roth[1] points out at TPM Muckraker,
met her husband while “both were working for Bill First’s U.S. Senate
office Memphis.” At the time, the current Mrs. Stanley was working
as—you guessed it—an intern.

Clinton was a serial concilliator. He was instrumental in pushing the
globalism we're saddled with today.

You must have supported Henry Hyde's investigation into Clinton's blow
job. The same Henry Hyde who was concurrently cheating on his wife.

BTW, it requires no effort to find Republican scum bags. They're
shoved in our faces every bloody day.

I was going to add the last two sentences you did.

Here's an interesting add-on:

Ex-youth pastor gets 8-16 months
Brian Neiswender pleaded no contest to charges he inappropriately
touched as many as 10 girls while on the staff for a church in Kingston.

By Sheena
Staff Writer

WILKES-BARRE – A former Kingston youth pastor who pleaded no contest to
charges he inappropriately touched as many as 10 girls while at the
church was sentenced Monday to eight to 16 months in jail.

Brian Neiswender, 27, now of Clarks Summit, was sentenced on two counts
of indecent assault and three counts of corruption of minors by Luzerne
County Court of Common Pleas Judge Peter Paul Olszewski Jr., and was
given three years probation following his prison sentence.

“I never wanted to hurt anyone,” Neiswender said before hearing his
sentence. “I know this whole situation has hurt a lot of people.”

Several of Neiswender’s family members, including his father-in-law,
wife Natalie and parents testified on his behalf.

“We were floored and disheartened,” Neiswender’s father, Scott
Neiswender, said, when the family found out about the allegations.

Scott Neiswender testified about the outstanding boy his son was in
grade school and college, and how he loved nothing more than being a
minister and teaching the Christian faith.

“He’s been punished enough already by losing his opportunity to continue
as a pastor,” Scott Neiswender said.

Neiswender’s wife, Natalie, testified her husband has been a loving
father to their two young children, as well as a supportive husband and
faithful Christian.

Natalie Neiswender testified it has been a tough year for the family,
but they are making it through, thanks to Brian Neiswender’s emotional
and spiritual support.

“I’m going to stay by his side and support him …,” Natalie Neiswender
said. “We’re committed to working together.”

Kingston police accused Neiswender of sexually assaulting three teen
girls while he was a youth pastor at Christ Community Church on West
Dorrance Street from September 2003 through February 2006, according to
the criminal complaint.

The girls, all near the age of 14 at the time, told police Neiswender
would place his hands on their chest during a game called “Crogs,” a
hide-and-go-seek game that is played in the dark, or during guitar or
piano lessons.

Neiswender was ordered to have no contact with children under the age of
18, other than his own, and to stay away from the victims in this case.

Four girls, all now over the age of 18, testified Monday, telling
Olszewski their lives have been changed forever.

“I no longer feel comfortable sending my younger sister to church,” said
an 18-year-old victim. “I wonder if I could ever lead a normal life.”

Another 18-year-old testified Neiswender hasn’t shown any remorse for
his actions, and a 19-year-old said this part of their lives will never
go away.

“This is a life sentence for me and the other victims,” the 19-year-old
said.

Another now 23-year-old victim called Neiswender a manipulator, and said
Neiswender used her and other girls’ problems they asked for counseling
for against them.

Investigator John Jorda, of the Kingston Police Department, testified he
has no doubt Neiswender did what the girls claim, even though he was a
revered and respected minister.

“I’ve seen it all … this is one of the most disgusting cases I’ve ever
been involved in,” Jorda said, explaining to the nearly 20 friends and
family members of Neiswender who were in court Monday that he’s not the
person they think he is.

“Brian (Neiswender) has an extremely dark side …,” Jorda said.

Luzerne County Assistant District Attorney Nancy Violi said that
although only three or four girls came forward about these incidents,
nearly 10 were involved.

“(The girls that came forward) wanted to make sure this didn’t happen to
anyone in the future,” Violi said. “I’m very happy with the sentence. It
sends a message. This gives (the victims) an opportunity to have some
closure.”

We have seen a lot, of this. It seems that a lot of people with high
ideals, or at least professed, can't resist temptation. The devil seem
to pick on the loudest opponents. Many times he is too persuasive. A
small but persistent prodding is all it takes.

Do you often run yourself in circles? Seems like a waste of energy
and so contrary to the run-of-the-mill straight line "conservative."
Oh well, to each his own.

Indeed, the loudest seem to be the first to cross the line.

Indubitably, there are some that are lacking for insight, and often
that mental impediment is set in place by political blindness. I
would recommend that you either look up the standard definition of
"concurrent," or else revisit the late Mr. Hyde's history. Unless, of
course, you are a Moore-sian revisionist and lack the courage to
subordinate yourself to intellectual honesty (that being my
prognosis).
