You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy
out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."* * Adrian Rogers, 1931-2005 |

Have you studied any history, with money like land the more it is divided the poorer the people become. This is made worse as the government siphons money to non productive uses. You can see the accuracy of this statement in any study of history. In the past, when the land became to small to be able to support the needs of the family, people moved somewhere else to get the amount of land required. This basic idea brought people out of Africa to Europe and Asia, from Europe and Asia to America, and made America what it is to day. Wealth (Money) like land is limited to what the people can manufacture or produce. The representation of this wealth can be increased but the value remains the same. (Inflation) If you distribute the wealth without increasing the amount, you get the same situation as when you divide the land without increasing the amount, everyone reaches the poverty level. |
