Default A Tune for Fishing...

Ok, so the fishing theme is a little weak. But the song is easy on
the ears. I'd give Norah a 9.0 for this video. (Any video of hers
without Keith Richards in it gets an 8.50 or better.)

And to be honest, Norah Jones is easy on the eyes, too.

Thanks for the link. Better than 99% of the crap on this NG. I drop in once
in a while to see if there are any boat related posts but usually no joy.

It seemed as though the Doobie Brothers' "Black Water" might be
appropriate. That song has been so overplayed over the years, though.
As far as all the other odd, peripheral noise that's in this group...

(Can't vouch for the production quality of this vid.)

I timely post. I just re-strung my Strat, cleaned her up really well,
and while playing some tunes, got a call, friend I brew beer with
occasionally and play guitar with occasionally called! Told him to come
on over!!!! Had a good time, but he couldn't stay but a couple of hours.
Besides, I've got pork loin on the Weber! Life is good!

LOL! When I first looked at your link, it reminded me of Leadbelly;
but, I saw that Taj Mahal had done this song.

So, I'll just have to trump your fishin' song;

Still, I'd just as soon as go fishing with, Norah.

Actually, "Fishing Blues" was written originally by a guy named Henry
Thomas. There's not a lot known about him - no pictures and very
little is known about him personally. He predated some of the greats
of his time and is considered a "bridge" musician having been born in
1874 and passing on sometime in the '50s/early'60s.

That video I posted is a pretty fair representation of how Thomas
played - high capo, banjo strumming style and the pan pipes which
Thomas used all the time according to contemporary reports.

Some other artists that came to mind when I was viewing your link were
W.C. Handy, John Lee Hooker, and Canned Heat. The song reminded me a
little bit of Little Feat, too. Interesting stuff!

Ah Taj!

Sometimes my buddy Michael Barretto plays inTaj's Hula Blues band.

Michael has his own cool gig the "Island blues band" as well.
