I originally typed "Obama" but I didn't want to keep slamming a guy

notice he has backed off of all of his "change" rhetoric since his
Jimmy Carter moment (roughly defined as the day he realized the
president is largely a ceremonial office)
Gore has their ear and is the high priest in the carbon tax crusade.
That cult has taken over the left.

How do you come to the conclusion that Obama is a puppet? The majority of
Americans put him in office and by a wide margin in the electoral college.

Every president since Nixon was a puppet of the monied people who put
him in office. It is getting worse each cycle.

Well, in that sense ok.

Nobody comes up with a billion dollars without owing a lot of
allegiance to a lot of rich people. You also have party pressures.
That is what knocked down all of Carter's lofty goals. I only bring
him up as an example of an "outside the beltway" guy who came to town
promising to change the way government worked. He was ground up and
reduced to a gray paste in 3 months, much like Mr Obama.

The jury is still out with Obama. I hope it won't happen. We need it not to
happen.

I guess it's got to be someone's fault, so Gore is it

Gore is the spiritual leader of the carbon tax cult, no more, no less.
In that regard he is the democratic equivalent of Jerry Falwell or
Rick Warren who also were not government officials but had a lot of
influence on Bush's policies and controlled a lot of votes.

I'm unconvinced by either those groups... carbon tax vs. cap and trade. I
should read more about it.

I accurately laid it at Bush's door. Believe what you want! You and your
friends here seem to think that racism is funny or can be dismissed as
such.
Comments like this are, unfortunately, typical of those who would rather
create fear and mistrust vs. have an intelligent discussion of the
important
issues.
Liberals have been crying racist any time 'Bama gets criticized.
You've just joined the crowd.

Racist, my ass.

Really. It's a bunch of bull****, but it does seem to kindle flames,
just as it is meant to do... When are minority Americans going to
figure out the only folks that seem to see race in everything is the Dem
leadership... It's just another deflection...

Good grief. You're actually going to deny that the Republican leadership
(Rush, Beck, etc.) are not racists?

Those guys are republican party leaders? Now that's news.

Hate to tell you, but the first bank bailout happened during Bush's

There is plenty of blame to go around.

I agree! But, there are some that only want to blame Obama or Bush.
Instead
of blame, how about looking at the facts, what happened, and how to fix
it?
Nahhh... too straightforward.

The only real "fix" is to rebuild American industry and start making
things here again instead of just creating "prosperity" on paper.
That may bump into the carbon tax problem. China is building new coal
plants at a rate of 2 a week to fuel their factories. If we can't find
a way of coming up with the energy to compete with that in some
acceptable and economically feasible way we will never dig our way
out of this hole.

I agree. We certainly have the brains. We absolutely need to address the
global implications of China's plants. Doing something by ourselves (talking
greenhouse gases) isn't the ultimate solution. It needs to be a global
effort. We have (and will have more) influence around the world. We need to
use our influence and power for good.

Our "power" is diminishing rapidly. The country is broke and nearly
broken. The first thing we need to do is to repeal the all of the
entitlements at the federal level and tell those who receive them that
they are going to have to take on for the team again.

Yeah, and both do more for minorities than Jessi Jackass and Charlie
Rangle combined, they just don't talk much about it. Dems call them
"racist" because that is the worst insult they can think of for someone
who doesn't toe the party line. They would turn on Obama and call him
racist if he didn't line up too. It's kind of funny to hear it coming
from Dems all the time though, they being the ones who are creating most
of the racial divides to maintain power over the block votes...

Hard to argue with the math:

"Here's some math from your stories that the average clunker got 15 mpg
and the average replacement gets 25. ·

A vehicle at 15 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 800 gallons a year of
gasoline. ·

A vehicle at 25 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 480 gallons a year. ·

So, an average clunker transaction reduces U.S. gasoline consumption by
320 gallons per year. ·

The total is about 700,000 vehicles - so that's 224 million gallons /
year. ·

That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil. ·

5 million barrels of oil is about ¼ of one day's U.S. consumption. ·

And, 5 million barrels of oil costs about $350 million dollars at $75/bbl.
·

So, we all contributed to spending $3 billion to save $350 million.

How good a deal was that???"

And that doesn't take into account the loss of revenue for the aftermarket
parts and repair industry that just lost those potential 700,000 vehicles
to the junkyard. Nor the energy savings of recycling those parts through
the re-manufacturing industry

To bribe the voters. Obama knows his policies are not working and political
support is dicipating, so he bribes those he can with our money. Or should
I say our credit-debt?

Obama is destined to be the biggest debt increase of any government leader
in the history of the world. It will takes decades, perhaps generations to
recover from.

Yeah, screw the poor created by the mis-notion of free market capitalism.
What would Jesus do?

Not really. Please name an actual leader who isn't kowtowing to them.

Umm... now if you had said Obama, Reid, Pelosi and perhaps a couple of
others in Congress, I'd agree.
