I agree. We certainly have the brains. We absolutely need to
address
the
global implications of China's plants. Doing something by ourselves
(talking greenhouse gases) isn't the ultimate solution. It needs to
be
a
global effort. We have (and will have more) influence around the
world.
We need to use our influence and power for good.

Our "power" is diminishing rapidly. The country is broke and nearly
broken. The first thing we need to do is to repeal the all of the
entitlements at the federal level and tell those who receive them
that
they are going to have to take on for the team again.

Yeah, screw the poor created by the mis-notion of free market
capitalism.
What would Jesus do?
Are you into mocking Christianity like so many of the other liberals
here?

Why would you think I'm mocking something that I grew up with and still
hold
dear? You know nothing about me. I think you're grasping at straws. How
dare
you question my faith.

At last, you realized it was a question. Why be so defensive?
You're questioning my faith and it's none of your business. Why are you
being such a jerk?

Answer my question. What would Jesus do... support free market
capitalism
that was and is responsible for disenfranchising the poor or would He
support the poor?
No. I'll not try to guess what Jesus would do.
Basically, you refuse to answer the question. I'll answer for you... He
would take the side of the poor not the corporations. Feel free to
disagree.

I refuse to enter a religious discussion with you.

This is obvious. Now the question is (not really a question) why.

Herring is a right-wing racist...he's claimed to be a Roman Catholic. If
I were his priest, I'd have him excommunicated for his seething hatred.

You and Harry seem to get your jollies attempting to ridicule the
religious beliefs of others. Why, I don't know. It surely can't be
conducive to good serenity, and I doubt it earns either of you much
respect, except from the other, of course.

Ummm... John, you just got done trying to ridicule my faith:

Are you into mocking Christianity like so many of the other liberals
here?

I don't think that's appropriate no matter who does it.

No one ridiculed your faith. I asked you a question. Please don't make
false accusations, as do some of the other liberals here.

My comments, above, were addressed to jps, not to you. When I see you
mocking someone's faith, then I'll address the comments to you.

You asked me if I was mocking Christianity "like so many of the other
liberals." You specifically addressed me. I don't appreciate it. I've
certainly done nothing to warrant this.

Several of the other liberals here get their jollies by mocking
Christianity. I asked, based upon your 'what would Jesus do' comment
in the middle of that discussion, if you were doing the same thing.

If you were not, an appropriate answer would have been a simple 'no'.

Case closed.

Your case may be "closed," but it sounds like it's your mind that's closed.
Re-read my response and get back to us when you understand that personal
attacks, especially upon someone's religion are inappropriate.

Attacks or ridicule about someone's religious beliefs are *extremely*
inappropriate in my opinion. That's why I would never have attacked
your religious beliefs.

Now, cry yourself a river, build a bridge, and get the f*** over it,
Mr. Plum.

Cry yourself to sleep Ms. H. That's exactly what you did, denegrate my
religion, even though you won't admit it.

Plume sweetie. This is a boating newsgroup and the types of posts you
make are frowned upon by Scott Dixon(slammer) and others. I have a
question for you. Since you appeared here out of the blue, so to speak,
and you have yet to enter into any boating discussions. Are you
connected to the bricklayers union in any way?

Bricklayers? Nope. I worked for the Teamsters for a summer many years ago.

I've been lurking a while. Actually, there haven't been that many posts
about boats. I used to own a Hobie 18 (well, co-own) but nothing right at
the moment.

Who's Scott Dixon though?

My mistake. Thought you might be the mysterious southern belle that
provides Krause's room and board.

You need to pay better attention to the cast of characters.

Not likely. I'm originally from the frozen north.

Fortunately, I have other distractions.
